core problem they tried solving

Owning clothes does not remove the work of deciding what fits a particular vibe or occasion. People need useful outfit combinations drawn from their existing wardrobe, without starting every choice from scratch.

the build story

Dress Me Up began with a familiar contradiction: plenty of clothes, no obvious outfit. Anjali and Namratha narrowed the idea to the wardrobe someone already owns, asking for photos of those pieces before suggesting combinations for a chosen vibe and occasion.

The working surfaces go beyond the promise on the homepage. Clothes can be uploaded and organised, the wardrobe can be read as a dashboard, and the stylist can return a concrete pairing that can be saved. The custom domain and its Vercel fallback are both still live.

The product also carries an honest tension: its public front door still asks people to join a waitlist while the deeper product screens exist. We do not have evidence of how many wardrobes made it through the full loop or where the recommendations disappointed people, so we will not promote availability into adoption.
