the standard

don't take our word, take theirs

These voices are from our original fellowship — five cohorts of it. The format has changed; the DNA they describe hasn't: real problems, mentors who show up, shipping to real users.

the six-week build

three sprints. one product. no mystery about what ships next.

Every week ends with something concrete: evidence, a frozen spec, a working killer flow, a tested build, a hardened deploy candidate, then a public launch. Fixed deadlines land before the next session, keeping the product moving.

getting it to work is the first win. making it hold up is the craft.

week 0

Arrive ready to start

Ten quiet minutes, sent ten days ahead. Save stubborn installs for Session 1; mentors solve them with you.

week 1

Get the stack green. Pick the right problem.

Nobody should lose a week to setup. Once every URL resolves, focus moves to the decision shaping the next five weeks: what deserves to be built.

week 2

Freeze the spec. Commit the architecture.

Five conversations put evidence under the spec. From here, scope may get smaller, clearer, or sharper — never quietly larger.

week 3

Build the killer flow. Learn to judge it.

Agents can hide bad decisions at speed. Every change still earns approval because the codebase needs an owner, not an observer.

week 4

Put the product in front of people

What people say and do rarely align. The Keep/Kill/Change Log turns that gap into decisions, not opinions.

week 5

Do the hard twenty percent

The first eighty percent can appear in an afternoon. The last twenty decides whether the build becomes dependable — or quietly stops.

week 6

Harden it. Put it on the internet.

Tutorials can stop at the satisfying part. This week continues until the product has a real domain, a success metric, and a public launch.

demo day

The problem. The flow. The live demo. The numbers.

Fifteen minutes, demo'ed and launched on /shipped: what you solved, what you shipped, and the proof available so far.

what leaves with you

six weeks later, these are yours.

*Builders' Club is in development. Your month is reserved for whenever it opens; nothing in the six-week program depends on it.

check the fit

the program is
for you if…

  • you are ready to spend Week 1 on the problem before you build, whether or not you have coded before.
  • you have vibe-coded a demo and want to make it hold up in production.
  • you want to build the whole thing yourself: frontend, backend, database, live URL.
  • you want weekly deliverables your refund depends on, not suggestions.
  • you can give it about 12 hours a week, including live weekend sessions.

the program is not
for you if…

  • you need a job placement at the end.
  • you expect an income or ROI promise.
  • you want a no-questions-asked refund, not one conditional on doing the weekly work.
  • you cannot make the weekend session times or clear about 12 hours a week.
  • you want agents to write code you will not review.
mentors

when the build gets stuck, a mentor stays with it.

the questions that usually come next.

9 practical answers
I can't code. Is that a problem?+
No. Around 60% of exp.club builders started there. Syntax is no longer scarce — or, as Karpathy put it, “the hottest new programming language is English”. What matters is turning a fuzzy problem into a clear spec and spotting bad output. If you can explain what should happen, you can build.
What if I don't have an idea?+
You don't need one. The Problem Bank has validated, employer-neutral problems ready to pick up. In Week 1, test one, speak to five people, then freeze the spec. You need a problem worth six weeks, not a clever idea.
How much time does this really take?+
About 12 hours a week. All 10 live sessions run on weekends and are recorded. The hours usually come from tutorials, tool demos, and half-started side projects. Here, they move one product forward each week.
What do I need before Week 1?+
A laptop, internet, and English. Ten days before the program, ten minutes of pre-work sets up three free accounts and brings three possible problems. Your included Claude seat switches on in Week 2, when building starts. We handle stubborn installs together in Session 1.
Do I need to buy AI subscriptions on top?+
No. Builder Compute includes Claude Code and the Claude app for all build weeks, Week 2 onward, with an allowance sized for the build. Week 1 is problem judgment and research. Brains before agents, by design. Prototype tools use free tiers; Cursor is optional and bring-your-own. Start Session 1 with a problem, not a checkout list.
Which time zone are the sessions in?+
One shared weekend time worldwide. It will not suit every calendar, so every session is recorded. If you miss the live room, watch the recording, post the required takeaway, and keep the deliverable moving.
Do I get a certificate?+
Yes: a LinkedIn-shareable completion credential, proper invoicing, and employer documentation. The stronger proof is the live product beside it — a URL anyone can open, backed by the repo and decisions behind it.
Will this conflict with my job?+
Usually not, if you set boundaries early. Build off-hours on your own equipment. Choose a problem unrelated to your employer; the Problem Bank supports that. Charging users is optional. Read your employment contract's IP clause before Week 1, while changing the problem is easy.
What happens after the six weeks?+
The product stays yours. Week 6 moves the stack to your accounts, so nothing depends on exp.club. The cohort space stays open for life. One month of Builders’ Club* is reserved for whenever it opens.

*Builders' Club is in development. Your month is reserved for whenever it opens; nothing in the six-week program depends on it.
